A late goal in second half time added on scored by substitute Mason Young was enough for the FC United of Manchester Academy ’B’ team to finish the season 2017-2018 ECFA NW Men’s Invitation 3A league campaign as divisional champions following this 2-1 away win against The Football College (North Manchester) Men’s 1sts at Goshen Sports Centre, Bury on Wednesday afternoon.

Needing just a point to lift the title, the FC United of Manchester Academy ’B’ team conspired to make it hard for themselves by conceding the opening goal, scored by the North Manchester-based home side on 58 minutes.

It wasn’t until the 80th minute that the Young Reds drew level; DILLON KIRKMAN finding himself in the right place at the right time to bundle the ball home from a corner.

An on 90+3 minutes, MASON YOUNG got the decisive last touch as he forced the ball home from a free-kick in a goalmouth scramble, as the visitors snatched a late, late winner.

Max Lewens finished as the Academy ’B’ team’s leading goalscorer with seven goals form his four appearances, with Kane Stockley on six goals from his eight starts.
