FC United of Manchester Academy ’B’ team edged closer to a possible ECFA NW Men’s Invitation 3A league title following this 3-3 draw against Coaching Connexions Manchester Men’s 3rds at Belle Vue Speedway Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Despite going down to the opening goal inside just three minutes, the Young Reds quickly drew level less than a minute later when JAY BRENNAN got the final touch to a Sam O’Donnell free-kick.

On six minutes, the visitors went 2-1 up, SAM IWEGBU converting a pass from his twin brother Xavier Iwegbu.

FC United kept the lead until shortly before half-time, when the home side scored the leveller on 42 minutes.

Worse was to follow, when Coaching Connexions took the lead on 49 minutes to make it 3-2 and it wasn’t until the 83rd minute when XAVIER IWEGBU grabbed the vital equaliser for the visitors.

FC United of Manchester Academy ’B’ team complete their ECFA league programme with a trip to Bury on Wednesday 16th May 2018 when they play The Football College (North Manchester) Men’s 2nds at Goshen Sports Centre. KO 2pm.

A win or a draw next Wednesday will be enough to see the Young Reds finish the season as ECFA NW Men’s Invitation League 3A divisional champions.
