Honours were even as the FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team grabbed a late equaliser to share the points following this 5-5 away draw against Coaching Connexions Manchester Men’s 2nds at Belle Vue Stadium in their latest ECFA NW Men’s Invitation 2A league fixture.
The Young Reds had opened the scoring on just 13 minutes after XAVIER IWEGBU had been tripped inside the 18 yard box. The same player then picked himself to slot home the resulting penalty.
On 19 minutes, it was 2-0, after Olvy Belezika set up SAM IWEGBU who scooped the ball goalwards past the onrushing home ’keeper.
A heavily deflected shot temporarily reduced the arrears for the home side before Dylan Dsinmeni set up TEMI OROPO to make it 3-1 on 37 minutes.
A minute before half-time, a long range effort for Coaching Connexions made it 3-2 going into the second half.
On 54 minutes, the home side made it 3-3 when they scored from a corner at the far post, before MAX LEWENS put FC United back in front with a finely taken goal on 64 minutes.
The lead lasted less than 60 seconds as the home side equalised from the penalty spot on 65 minutes, before then going in front for the first time in the game on 76 minutes.
Just when it looked as if FC United of Manchester academy team would depart empty-handed, TEMI OROPO dived low to meet a Nelson Onwusiri cross on 90 minutes to make the final score 5-5.
