Cup holders FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team crashed out of the Greater Manchester Schools FA Under 18s County Cup competition at the First Round stage following this 3-0 defeat at Hopwood Hall (Middleton) on Wednesday.
Three first half goals by Hopwood Hall (on 24 minutes, 34 minutes and 37 minutes) saw the home side safely through to the Second Round.
It might have been 4-0 to Hopwood Hall but for Sulaiman Sajjad making a fine penalty save with two minutes remaining.
FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team will hope to dust themselves down as they are back in action next Wednesday, 8th February 2017, in a "must win" ECFA North West Men’s Category 2B league fixture against Oldham College Men’s 2nds at the Failsworth Soccer Centre (Kick-off: 2.00 p.m.)
