Match Report
FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 0 PRESTON NORTH END YOUTH (MYERSCOUGH) 2

In-form Preston North End Youth (Myerscough) made it three league wins in a row with this 2-0 away win against FC United of Manchester Youth in the National League u19 Alliance ’J’ Division on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.

Chances were at a premium in the opening half hour, with Francesco Frangillo going closest for the home side with a shot straight at Luke Raybould on 24 minutes.

Thirty seconds before the half-time interval, Preston North End took the lead, when SAM BARKER beat the offside trap to roll the ball home.

Into the second half, and Michael Jones almost snatched an equaliser for the Young Reds, but his shot blazed narrowly over the crossbar.

At the other end, Preston’s Hannu Tam might have scored a hat-trick, but was denied by a couple of smart saves by home goalkeeper Tom Bamber.

However, there was nothing much that the debutant ’keeper could do about HANNU TAM’s 87th minute effort, that sped into the corner of the net, to make the final score 2-0 in favour of the visitors.

Next Wednesday afternoon, 8th February 2017, FC United of Manchester Youth are back in league action with a trip to Stockport County Youth (Cheadle Sports Club KO: 1.30 pm)
