Match Report
HARROGATE TOWN 3 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER 1

FC United’s disappointing start to the league season continued with this 3-1 away defeat against high-flying Harrogate Town at Wetherby Road on Tuesday night.

FC United had actually taken the lead when LUKE ASHWORTH rose highest to head home a 16th minute corner at the back post.

Within four minutes, however, the North Yorkshire side had drawn level when TOM PLATT slotted home a Jon-Paul Pittman cross from just inside the goal area.

On 58 minutes, the home side took the lead after JON-PAUL PITTMAN’s initial header had been parried by FC United ’keeper Jon Diba Musangu, the ball landing kindly for the big forward to smash home from point blank range.

And on 88 minutes, TOM PLATT made sure of the result with a unstoppable shot from just inside the penalty area.

The result leaves FC United with just two wins from their opening nine league games and only four points off the relegation places.
