Match Report

FC UNITED YOUTH 1 GUISELEY AFC YOUTH 3

Guiseley AFC Youth progressed through to the semi-finals of the Football Conference Youth Alliance League Cup competition with this 3-1 away quarter-final win against FC United Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.

FC United Youth were marginally the better in the first half, and took the lead on 44 minutes when Cameron Horner latched onto a Jack Ward pass before shooting past visiting ’keeper Luke Wilson.

On 60 minutes, Guiseley AFC equalised when Kabine Dumbuya was left unmarked before comfortably slotting the ball past Joe Valentine.

With less than seven minutes of normal time remaining, home goalkeeper Joe Valentine had to go off with a bad cut to the head and the resulting lengthy delay seemed to unsettle the home team.

In the fifth minute of time added on, Adam Lockett was adjudged to have conceded a foul in his own penalty area, and up stepped Guiseley Youth’s Aaron Fell to roll the spot kick past replacement home ’keeper Jacob Holt to make it 2-1.

And in the seventeenth minute of time added on, Guiseley Youth’s Talent Ndlovu scored from close range to make sure of the final result (3-1 to Guiseley).

FC United Youth’s next scheduled FCYA league game is an away fixture against Gateshead Youth (Wednesday 17th February 2016 - K.O. 2.00 p.m.).
