On Saturday 12th August, kick off 3pm, FC United welcome Kidderminster Harriers to Broadhurst Park in the National League North. Admission is pay on the gate: £10 Adults, £6 Concessions and £3 u/18s.

FC United and Kidderminster Harriers are two of five teams who have yet to gain a point from the first two matches of the season. All matches so far in the National League North have been won or lost with no draws yet recorded. Kidderminster lost their opening match of the season at home to Chorley and on Tuesday night lost 1-0 away at Nuneaton. FC United lost 2-1 away at Brackley and 3-2 at home to Spennymoor on Tuesday despite having 73% of the possession in a game that had 42 attempts on goal.

Last season FC United won both league matches against Kidderminster, who would eventually finish second in the league, 6 points behind champions Fylde, but lost to Chorley in the Play-off semi-final.

Defender Matty Hughes who missed the first two matches will be available for selection on Saturday. Scott Kay and Lewis Lacy are still serving suspensions carried over from last season. Full back Jake Williams has now joined Buxton on a dual registration with FC. New signing Danny Brady is still away.

We would like to highlight a few things contained within this post that supporters should familiarise themselves with.

  • We are now running a FREE Shuttle Bus from the bus stop opposite the Crowne Plaza adjacent to the Hare and Hounds Pub at Shudehill in Manchester to the ground before the match, picking up at the Railway Pub next to Newton Heath/Moston Metrolink stop. The return Shuttle Bus only goes to the Newton Heath/Moston Metrolink Stop after the game. (scroll down for more details)
  • Supporters will now be able to reserve seats in one block of the Main Stand by ringing the office by Friday on 0161 769 2005
  • We are now offering Match Day Dining.
  • This season, all food and drink provision is contained within the ground so fans will not be able to leave and return to the ground during the game.
  • On Saturday evening we have a Private Function in the Main Stand Bar, so the Bar will close shortly after half-time. THE SMRE Bar will be open after the match.
  • We are looking for a volunteer to manage the main car park entrance on match days, please ring 0161 769 2005 if you can help.

    CAR PARKING

We would urge supporters to use the car parks we have available for a charge of £5.00 at the ground and for £3.00 at the nearby St Mathews School, only 3 minutes’ walk of the ground.

We are under a duty to ensure areas such as St Mary’s Road and the north of Nuthurst Road are not used by visitors to Broadhurst Park.

Supporters should be mindful that there is no parking on:

    - St Mary’s Road and the streets off St Mary’s Road; including Teddington Road, Merridale Road, Worthington Street and Tymm Street.

    - Nuthurst Road;

    - the West side of Moston Lane and the streets off it.

***We require a volunteer to manage the main car park entrance on match days.***

This would involve managing the admission of vehicles belonging to: blue badge holders, players and officials etc. included on a compiled list, and additionally a number of other vehicles upon payment of a fee.

The person undertaking this task will need to exhibit a pleasant and welcoming disposition towards the arriving fans, be prepared to work in all weather conditions for a period approx. 2.5 hours prior to kick off and finishing approx. 10 minutes after. Ideally the post holder would offer a regular commitment to the task. All necessary training and support will be available.

Anyone interested should contact the office on: 0161 769 2005 or email petershaw@fc-utd.co.uk

We can always use more volunteers to act as traffic marshals and indeed for a number of matchday functions, so if you can help, send an email to John Davies johndavies@fc-utd.co.uk or telephone the office on 0161 769 2005 and leave a phone number for him to contact you to discuss.

    Enjoy the game.
