The Kids Are United

Two academy players have signed first team forms.

Mike Jones and Sam Baird have been promoted from the youth team setup to the first team and will be in the contention for the squad this Saturday against Stalybridge.

Our C.E.O Damian Chadwick has said the following about the new young signings:-

“It’s a significant step up for the lads and further testament to their hard work and commitment, I hope to see them develop into future first team regulars and hope the supporters will join me in congratulating them both on their achievements.

Alongside the players I would like to congratulate Jack Dickenson and Rhodri Giggs, in seeing their continued time and effort invested in the academy come to fruition.???

Following on from this first team manger Karl Marginson said the following:-

“Sam and Michael have worked hard and shown the physical and mental attributes that are needed to make the transition from youth/development into adult football.

We hope that their progression is an aspiration to the other members of the FC United Academy and it shows that hard work and endeavour are key to succeeding at this club.

Along with these attributes, patience is also key for any young player and supporters must understand that with any young player that patience is required for them to develop in a timely manner.???

Academy coach Jack Dickenson also paid tribute to the boys’ hard work:-

“Mike and Sam have earned this opportunity through their hard work and determination to improve themselves. They have both been a key part in the success of the Youth Team so far, and I am thrilled that now it has been recognised at first team level. The lads should be proud of themselves.???
