Youth United Day a Big Success

Youth United Day a Big SuccessYouth United Day was a great success this year with over 500 young people participating in the activities provided on the day. We had a climbing wall and bouncy castle on the footprint of the ground with face painting, birds of prey, a pool tournament, a youth inclusion truck, Salford Harriers running and athletics taster sessions and Moston Juniors facilitating football sessions on the 3G pitch.

Invited groups attended the game from Moston Juniors, Moston Lane Youth Project, Whitemoss Youth Centre, Places for People, Moston Miners and St Mary’s Primary School.

Places for People sponsored the event and we must thank them for allowing us the opportunity to host such a range of activities that would cater for all young people on the day.

Nick Coleman from NGage said "we had a brilliant time and really enjoyed meeting lots of people that come on the bus. For us it was really beneficial and gave us the opportunity to not only engage with some local young people but also have a chat to the parents too."

Johnny Biggs from Whitemoss said "we met at Whitemoss and 50 from the club walked up to the ground children young people mums and dads and grandparents as well .Thanks for Scott Flitcroft coming down to Whitemoss on his day off with Isabell from FC Utd. Thanks for the hospitality and for Hannah Gorman and Ellie walking us back to the club."

Andy Cheshire from FC said "it was a really nice way to end the season. Seeing so many young people enjoying themselves at our ground gave me great satisfaction and I hope we can build on this experience going forward into next season."

We also had the presentation of a defibrillator by former ball boy Ben Obiora’s mum, Paula, to Moston Juniors. Ben tragically died whilst playing for Dove Holes in 2012. There is a second defibrillator going to Moston Tigers and the money for the defibrillators has been raised by the FC Uth and our thanks and praise go to all involved for their efforts.
