Margy makes two new signings to further boost squad

FC United manager Karl Marginson today announced two new signings to the club which strengthen his side which still remains unbeaten so far this season.

Defender Chris Lynch, who was on a month’s loan to the club has now signed permanently from Conference side Southport and Margy has also secured the services of winger Andy Welsh. Welsh has significant experience in the professional game and was last seen playing for Scunthorpe United last year. Born in Manchester and a life-long United fan, Andy’s league experience includes spells at Stockport County, Macclesfield, Sunderland, Leicester City, Blackpool, Yeovil, Carlisle as well as Scunthorpe.

Commenting on the two signings Margy said: “I’m delighted to have Chris on a permanent deal. It will help him settle into the club now that he’s not on loan and I know that he’s impressed supporters even in the short time we’ve had him. I’m really happy that he’s signed on the dotted line for us and he’ll be a real asset to the side. The signing of Andy might raise a few eyebrows in the game, with a player of his professional experience and quality coming to the club, but it just shows the quality that this club can attract that players of Andy’s stature want to come and play for FC United.???

Speaking about his move, Andy Welsh said: “Some people might raise their eyebrows about me dropping down from league football but this is a massive club, make no mistake about it. I want to be part of FC and this football revolution in Manchester. I came to the game on Tuesday and the fans were absolutely magnificent, singing all the way through the game. Where the club is going with the new stadium is exactly where I want to be at the moment. It’s a great challenge for me at this stage in my career and hopefully I can be part of the journey that FC is on. Karl sold the club to me but in truth it didn’t need selling as I was already aware of it. I’m really looking forward to playing for FC and turning out in front of this set of fans. I can’t wait.???
