“SIMPSON TAKES A GIFT???

West Yorkshire League side Shelley CFC saw honours even after the visitors failed to take advantage of the bulk of possession.

FC debutant James Knowles, captured from Bradford Park Avenue, will hope to forget his part in the opening goal on 15 minutes as his attempted back pass picket out Shelley centre-forward Danny Simpson who accepted the gift.

For United, Jacob Hazel’s snap shot rebounded from the face of the crossbar.

Play was almost entirely in the Shelley half after halftime and Matt Walwyn headed home a Scott Cheetham diagonal cross.
