Match Report
FC United’s Women ended an impressive pre-season campaign with a 7-0 victory over Burnley Ladies last Sunday. A first half hatrick from debutant Nicole Hatcliffe was replicated in the second half by veteran striker Shellby Wolstencroft scoring the perfect hatrick comprising a header followed by left and right foot strikes. Winger Chloe Wilde wrapped up a fine victory for the reds, rounding off a successful pre-season campaign with 5 wins from 6 games; all against higher league opposition.

After Sunday’s game, the Burnley manager, playing his strongest side, was full of praise and optimism for FC United’s chances of success in the coming campaign. Manager Lee Sutton will not get carried away though as he and his coaching team prepare the squad for their opening league fixture against Warrington Wolverines on 4th September. The game kicks off at 2pm at Broadhurst Park....get yourselves to our football ground and cheer the Women to a winning start to their season.
