Match Report
FC United continued their pre season build up with a second 1-1 draw, this time with Stalybridge Celtic.

The first half was short on goal mouth action, Celtic starting the brightest with James Cadman testing Dave Carnell who was equal to the task.

As the half wore on, FC saw much more of the ball, and had the lions share of possession, possession that turned into a goal on 32 minutes.

A right wing corner was headed back into the box by Lewis Lacy to where Matthew Wolfenden was lurking. His flick was well saved by Lewis King but the ball found its way to the edge of the box where Craig Linfield finished well into the bottom corner.

The lead should have been doubled on 51 minutes when Mike Norton headed a free kick just wide of the post.

On 67 minutes, the game was level. A ball over the top found Liam Dickinson who was pulled back by James Knowles. Dickinson took the spot kick and sent Carnell the wrong way.

From this point it was the home side who saw most of the ball but goal chances were hard to come by.

Substitute Matthew Walwyn missed a couple of chances whilst at the other end Carnell saved from Dickinson and Ben McKenna.

It was a good run out for FC, Lewis Lacy did his first team chances no harm for the forthcoming season with a great first half performance.
