FC United is calling all supporters to get involved in BP Boost a Development Fund (DF) initiative to help raise much needed funds to help clear the clubs outstanding debt.
We cannot ignore the outstanding debts from the construction of Broadhurst Park. The club has a schedule of repayments that must be met otherwise the future of the club could be in doubt.
This season members approved a fundraising target for the DF of £158k which will contribute to ground maintenance/development and debt repayments.
The Development Fund Committee thinks WE can do better and have set up BP Boost to help clear the clubs long-term debt for the ground.
BP Boost is an initiative to encourage all supporters to try and raise £20 per month anyway they can.
Examples of how this can be done are having one less pint at the weekend, gathering all the loose change down the back of the sofa, putting a couple of litres less fuel in the tank and a few extra walks, organising a sponsored event or simply clubbing together with friends and family. The money saved can then be deposited in the newly rebranded barrels or paid directly into the DF bank account.
Make no mistake, every penny counts.
Existing Donations, Standing Orders, Holiday Draw, Comedy/Soul Nights, Supporters Dinners and Pound for the Ground, will continue to contribute to developing and maintaining the ground. This season the DF barrels will be re-branded as a BP Boost collection point. BP Boost updates will be regularly reported separately to Supporters.
From August for the 2018/19 season a monthly contribution of £20 could realise:
If you want to get involved with BP Boost, you can email Vinny Thompson at email@example.com for your fundraising pack, leaving your name and address.
In total, since its inception, the Development Fund has raised over £700k - a fantastic achievement that is a testament to the passion, dedication and generosity of FC United supporters.
